Accused school burglars plead not guilty

Guam - Two of the nine arrested for allegedly burglarizing Inarajan Middle School several times plead not guilty today. Olympia Taisacan was indicted on charges of theft by receiving as a 2nd and 3rd degree felony. She was released on a $10,000 personal recognizance bond but ordered to stay away from codefendants and the village of Inarajan.
Freddy Degracia also plead not guilty and asserted his rights to a speedy trial. The court denied his request to be released due to his criminal history and he remains behind bars on $5,000 cash bail. At least six other minors were allegedly involved in breaking into the school and stealing several supplies and electronics.
The pair will return to court on August 6.
