Guam - It was a rainbow of colored gowns as the last of the class of 2012 received their high school diplomas today. 18-year-old Jared Gaminde was among those students in today's rainbow graduation, a ceremony to honor seniors from the island's five public high schools who fell short of graduation requirements, but completed them over summer break.

"Finally graduated so many years of school; just happy to get out," he said. When asked about his immediate plans, he said, "Gonna join the Police Academy here on Guam, so law enforcement."

Department of Education superintendent Jon Fernandez says he's proud of today's grads as they opted to persevere and not become high school dropouts.
