Guam - A man caught breaking into a Tamuning home and threatening a resident with a gun Tuesday afternoon remains behind bars on $100,000 cash bail. But this apparently isn't the first time the suspect had a run in with the law.

34-year-old Bruce Pascual Charfauros stood before Magistrate Judge Alberto Tolentino this afternoon answering to charges of burglary and 2nd degree robbery both as second degree felonies and each with a special allegation of possession and use of a deadly weapon in the commission of a felony, as well as for possession a firearm without an ID.

Charfauros was caught inside a Tamuning home along Farenholt Street on Tuesday afternoon. Court documents state Charfauros allegedly pried open the glass sliding door and ransacked the home taking a purse and some jewelry. He also allegedly pointed a gun at a resident of the home yelling for the victim to come closer. Charfauros was later found by police trying to escape from the second floor balcony of the Ypao Breeze Inn on Ypao Road.

In court today, the prosecution recommended $100,000 cash bail - at that time, Charfauros stated, "Might as well just make it a million."

He remains behind bars and faces 5 to 25 years if convicted.

But Charfauros is no stranger to being in prison. In fact, he was just released in August 2010 after spending one year behind bars for a burglary charge.

His criminal history dates back to November 2000 where was convicted for attempted murder, deadly weapon used in a felony and burglary. During his incarceration, in February 2004 he was charged for an assault incident at the corrections facility. He was released in December 2006. He was arrested again in May 2009 on a separate burglary charge.

Charfauros remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in court for a preliminary hearing on August 10.
