Guam - Independent congressional candidate Jonathan Diaz and his campaign are ramping up their rhetoric and calling on incumbent congresswoman Madeleine Bordallo to name the date, time and place for a debate. And if she chooses not to debate "then we are calling for an independent medical assessment of your psychological stamina to rule out any psychological issues that may or may not affect your ability to perform the job for Guam in the U.S. House of Representatives, we cannot hide behind staff members in order to do the job of all the peoples of Guam."

In response to Diaz, Bordallo's campaign manager Clifford Guzman says their focus as a campaign is on soliciting the support of our democratic constituents in a positive and proactive fashion and that perhaps Mr. Diaz should be concentrating on as well- gleaning what support he can get from other independents. In terms of Diaz comments about a medical assessment Guzman responded, "It is unfortunate, unwarranted and certainly offensive that Mr. Diaz would even venture to make such a statement. This is offensive not only to the Congresswoman, but also to the thousands of voters who have placed their faith and trust in her for decades with good reason - because she continues to get things done for the people of Guam."
