Guam - Sailors aboard the USS Frank Cable safely arrived on Naval Base Guam this morning. The crew spent the last seven months deployed to Portland, Oregon undergoing routine maintenance overhaul and dry-docking. The ship also made two port visits to Pearl Harbor, Hawaii during this time.

It's been eight years since the last time the frank cable underwent routine maintenance. Commanding officer Captain Peter Hildreth was among the group that got a special greeting from family and friends. "We replaced a bunch of steel, did a lot of work in the engine room and got the ship in best material condition we can and will be good for another five-to-seven years before it has to go back into dry dock. It's great to be back home and we were hoping to be back before liberation day, we were ten days late but we are really glad to be back to Guam," he said.

Hildreth adds his crew is ready to begin conducting maintenance of submarines and surface vessels in the fleet area.
