Guam Bakery opens production plant

Guam - Guam Bakery opened its production plant on Friday. General manager Henri Oftana says the new plant on Bello Road will handle breads, while their Dededo bakery will cater to cakes and pastries.

Oftana hopes shoppers will opt to buy local at the supermarkets, telling KUAM News, "They don't have to purchase from island anymore because we can do the same things that they do off-island, so we can keep everything local."

Guam Bakery has been servicing the island from their Dededo location since 1975 and will celebrate its 40th anniversary in 2015.
