Guam - A 16 year old male client escaped from the Department of Youth Affairs this afternoon. DYA Director Adonis Mendiola says the teen escaped for the facility at 1:36 pm. He is described as being a male Chamorro with black hair and a medium complexion. He stands 5'6" and weighs 110 pounds, and was last seen wearing a white shirt and black shorts.

The escapee was initially charged with theft of a motor vehicle, theft by receiving, guilt established by complicity, reckless driving, driving without a driver's license, beyond control and possession of a controlled substance, and was recently remanded back to DYA for violating his conditions of probation.

Guam police, court marshals and DYA's tracking team are actively looking for the client at this time. Anyone with information is asked to contact DYA at 735-5022, Guam Police at 475-8615 or Guam Crime Stoppers at 477-HELP.

We should note this is the sixth client to escape from the Mangilao compound this year.
