Guam - In the wake of Friday's tragedy in Colorado, officers with the Guam Police Department have been ordered to do constant checks at the big screen to ensure there are no copycats.

As family, friends and the nation mourn the loss of those who were injured and killed in Friday's movie theater massacre in Aurora, here at home the Guam Police Department is taking extra precautions. Chief of Police Fred Bordallo said, "I have instructed our police precincts in Tamuning-Tumon, Dededo and Agana to make periodic checks in the movie theater where The Dark Knight Rises have been playing," he said.

According to the police chief, his officers are going into the theaters along with movie personnel reminding everyone to report any suspicious activity immediately. "Guam is a safe place, and I think for the movie goers life continues and we are always resilient no matter what type of crisis takes place...everyone had been very frank about the need to really be vigilant and look around if you see anything out of the ordinary to report it to law enforcement," he said.

The suspected gunman, 24-year-old James Holmes, remains in solitary confinement while the investigation continues. Authorities want to know how Holmes got the materials used in the shooting and in his apartment. They are investigating dozens of deliveries to his home and school over a four month period.

A total of 12 people were killed and 71 were injured.

President Barack Obama arrived in Aurora this afternoon. He is meeting privately with victims' families. Holmes meanwhile is expected to make his first court appearance tomorrow.
