Guam - The U.S. Office of Personnel Management has announced that the Micronesia Conservation Trust has been qualified to be part of the Combined Federal Campaign charity list. According to Assistant Secretary for Insular Affairs Tony Babauta, this is the first time a non-governmental organization has been recognized and is now eligible to receive pledges from the many federal employees and military personnel from the region or with interests in the insular areas.

He said, "The importance is now you're exposed to a very broad audience which is the federal government and also that it is the first time that a Micronesian NGO has broken the ground and broken the doors down with all the work that they do for conservation in the Pacific Region."

The MCT supports biodiversity conservation and related sustainable development for the people of the Federated States of Micronesia, Palau, the Marshall Islands, Guam and the CNMI.
