Guam - Some of the statements William Perez made to federal authorities during a raid at MGM Spa and subsequent interviews cannot be used at his trial. District Court Chief Judge Frances Tydingco Gatewood issued an order today granting Perez's motion to suppress statements he made to the FBI on December 14, 2010.

The judge denied the suppression motions for statements he made the day before and on December 17th.  According to the order, Perez was isolated from others during the December 14 raid and he did not feel free to leave the interrogation.  Both parties also admitted that Perez was not given his Miranda Rights during questioning.

Perez, Wai Kaim Ho, Jimmy Hsieh and Jennie Pau are accused of operating an illegal gambling operation at the former MGM Spa.
