Guam - The Guam Environmental Protection Agency has yet to finish responses to over 300 comments related to the Guam Resource Recovery Partners' plans to build a landfill in Atantano, Santa Rita. According to Guam Environmental Protection Agency spokesperson Tammy Jo Anderson Taft, GE[PA administrator Eric Palacios would like to have responses completed within the next 30 days.

She explained, "The reason why it's taking so long is that we want to make sure that with all those comments and all those responses to those comments that they are complete, and because many of them are technical in nature it takes a lot of research to put them together. If you're ever looking at a landfill or a permit for a landfill you want to take everything very seriously."

Taft says GRRP will provide updates at Thursday's GEPA board meeting scheduled for 4pm in the Tiyan Conference Room.
