Port conference begins this week
The 99th Annual Association of Pacific Ports Conference gets underway in Guam tomorrow.
Guam - The 99th Annual Association of Pacific Ports Conference gets underway in Guam tomorrow. The Port Authority of Guam will co-host the event with the Republic of the Marshall Islands Ports Authority. Port experts from all over the pacific are scheduled to attend the conference at the Marriott Guam Resort from July 18th – 21st
Expert speakers will cover timely Pacific Port issues including:
· Port Security throughout the Pacific
· Modernizing Stevedore Operations
· Expanding Trade with a Changing China
· Investing in Port Infrastructure
· Managing Military Partnerships with Ports
· Maximizing Renewable Energy Benefits
· Effective Commission/Board Governance

· Expanding & Updating Cruise Terminals
· Restructuring Taiwan Ports
· Adequate Port Insurance Coverage
· Deploying Successful Port Leadership
According to a press release from PAG, some of the speakers will include Port of Guam General Manager Mary C. Torres, Dan Allen the Ports and Harbors Practice Leader from Moffat and Nichol and Taiwan International Ports Corporation President Tai–Hsin Lee. The theme of the conference is "Pacific Blue Continent Connections".
