Guam - While the Guam Election Commission puts the finishing touches on printing ballots for the 2012 primary election, it still is on the search for more than one hundred precinct officials. According to executive director Maria Pangelinan, only 150 have signed up to fill a total of 290 spots for 58 precincts spread out across 21 polling places on Guam.

"The precinct officials run the election because they're there servicing the voters, with the precinct official training and the precinct official manual, we will service all the voters including the individuals with disabilities," she explained.

Pangelinan met with the Guam Legal Services Corporation and Guam Systems for Assistive Technology this week to ensure the voting process is more easily accessible. Precinct officials will be paid a $170 stipend for each election and have to attend training beginning in August. Applications can be picked up at the GEC's office in Hagatna or http://gec.guam.gov
