Fire recruit bill may be in August session

Guam - Senator Dennis Rodriguez, Jr. says he hopes to get legislation that would secure jobs for 30 fire recruits on the session agenda in August. Bill 421 would use expired E-911 funds to pay for the recruits so they can begin work.

As we reported, the recruits were given notice that their job selection was canceled due to a lack of funding. Rodriguez hopes to the measure passed next month so the selected remain on the priority list. He adds GFD also requested to hire several new employees in its FY2013 budget.
