Guam - After verifying approximately one thousand residential homes in the past month, the Department of Rev and Tax's field inspectors are moving forward with its property assessment and re-evaluation of commercial and industrial class real estate throughout Guam. According to appraisal supervisor John Gumataotao, DRT had sent out about 100 property record cards to different commercial buildings on Monday, requesting for current data such as construction type and specific uses of the building.

The intent of the inspections is to determine the true value of a close to 1,300 commercial buildings and update DRT's system, which hasn't been done since 1993.

The inspections should officially start today and go on until August 31.
