TakeCare not required to pay rebates
Guam - TakeCare Insurance isn't required to pay any rebates to its thousands of subscribers. TakeCare is now under a new, limited liability company, Veiovis. According to its website, Veiovis is listed as a medical travel facilitator. The new company provides health care management and overseas patient care facilitation utilizing TakeCare's health insurance and clinical expertise.
Because Veiovis isn't considered an insurance company, TakeCare is able to avoid having to pay rebates to its members.
Healthcare Committee chair Senator Dennis Rodriguez meanwhile tells KUAM News he believes this is an issue that must be reviewed by the insurance commissioner as well as the federal regulators who oversee the medical loss ratio mandate. TakeCare CEO Jeff Larsen did not return multiple calls and e-mails for comment on the story.
Rev & Tax meanwhile says they were unaware of the creation of the new company and will now look into the matter.
