Abandoned Vehicle Program to restart
by Krystal Paco
Guam - The Mayors Council of Guam's Abandoned Vehicle Project is back and with full force. According to MCOG executive director Angel Sablan, each mayor will be allotted $25,000 from the island's Recycling Fund, administered through the Guam Environmental Protection Agency, to collect loose metals, tires, white goods, and electronic goods in their villages.
Sablan says this is their second attempt at the project because the original contracted vendor only addressed the villages of Barrigada and Santa Rita. This time, Sablan says progress will be made and faster since each mayor will work directly with one of two of the island's recycling centers.
