Guam - The Guam International Airport Authority is looking to make changes to standard operating procedures in its commercial lot to tour busses, vans, and taxi operators. According to executive manager Charles Ada II, these vehicles are often parked as long as 45 minutes prior to picking up passengers, leaving exhaust fumes to enter the terminal facility.

"What we're trying to do is find common ground by developing a staging sight or identifying a staging sight off terminal property where they can stage vehicles, keep their busses running. Because their concern was to make sure that the climate control for their customers is comfortable," he said.

Ada says drivers will be able to communicate with radio dispatch to come to the terminal to pick up passengers once they clear immigrations and customs. According to GIAA board member Jess Torres, this is an old problem that must be addressed quickly.
