GEC to approve final ballot design

Guam - The Guam Election Commission board is meeting this evening to approve the final ballot design for the September 1 Primary Election. The GEC is meeting after issues were brought up regarding how to place independent candidates on the Primary Ballot, which eventually was resolved when lawmakers passed legislation reconfiguring the ballot and signed into law by the governor.

A ballot design must be approved in order to send out primary ballots under the Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act by July 18, which 45 days before the primary.
