Guam - More than 30 officers and volunteers scoured Tumon including the beach searching for missing tourist 67-year-old Hiroshi Shirai. He was last scene on July 2 after checking into the Nikko Hotel. Police reviewed hotel surveillance video but learned he only stayed in his room for a couple of hours. And his luggage was still inside his room.
He traveled to Guam alone, according to GPD Spokesperson Sergeant Mike Aguon. He said, "We've spoken to people at the hotel and they don't know anymore than what we know so we are doing a following and we are waiting for members of his family to arrive and hopefully they can shed some light as to where he might be, we don't know, he could have gone off on some trip for an adventure."
This isn't Shirai's first time to Guam - he was here in 2006 on a business trip. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to contact Guam Crimestoppers at 477-HELP (4357).
