Gemba, Clinton pledge to resolve issues

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is once again traveling through the region and recently stopped in Japan where she met with Japanese Foreign Minister Koichiro Gemba.

Guam - Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is once again traveling through the region and recently stopped in Japan where she met with Japanese Foreign Minister Koichiro Gemba. Aside from issues involving monetary support for Afghanistan discussions on the Marines relocation from Okinawa to Guam took place.

According to Gemba the two followed up on his recent visit to the U.S. for two-plus-two talks. He told reporters that he and Clinton confirmed to accelerate their work so that certain outcomes can be achieved by the end of this year on questions such as the relocation of marines in Okinawa and Guam and the improvement  of training facilities in Guam and Northern Marianas in order to concretize Japan-U.S. dynamic defense cooperation.

Gemba added he and Clinton also reconfirmed to work continuously on the Futenma Air Station relocation to Henoko.
