Bills strengthen Guam laws on child porn

by Mindy Aguon

Guam - Chairman of the Legislative Committee on Judiciary Senator Adolpho Palacios will hold a public hearing on bills that are aimed at strengthening Guam's laws when it comes to child pornography. Bill 476 would define the word "pornographic" in Guam's laws; and Bill 482 amends local law at it relates to the solicitation of children and child pornography.

Both measures were introduced at the request of the Office of the Attorney General, which has been having a tough time prosecuting these types of cases locally. The public hearing is scheduled for Friday, July 13 at 9 in the morning in the Legislature's Public Hearing Room in Hagatna.
