Bell schedule delays DPW bus schedules
Guam - While next year's high school bell schedule remains in limbo, the Department of Public Works grows impatient. According to DPW director Joanne Brown, the Department of Education is three months overdue with providing a school bell schedule in order for DPW to develop a bussing schedule for the upcoming school year.
"We just don't have the flexibility and that's something we have to relay to the board however they make their decision they have to realize this has a domino effect - you change one school's schedule and it has the same bus driver and same bus, it's going to affect the timing for other schools. That's just the simple reality of where we're at right now."
Brown and the heads of the various substations met with DOE deputy superintendent Rob Malay and the island's high school principals today. Brown says she will call Guam Education Board chairman Francis Santos in order to expedite the final bell schedule.
