Guam - The Department of Defense is finally close to completing one of the major mandates in the 2012 National Defense Authorization Act. Congresswoman Madeleine Bordallo confirms the Center for Strategic and International Studies submitted its independent analysis of the U.S. force posture in the Asia Pacific Region to the DOD.

The report must be officially submitted to Congress in order to move the Marines relocation from Okinawa to Guam forward. Without it, the Senate Armed Service Committee has vowed to continue blocking funding for the program. According to Bordallo, Defense Secretary Leon Panetta must first review the report and provide comments before it can be transmitted to Congress and made public.
