Guam - It's going to be a big week for public education as Jon Fernandez officially reports for duty on Monday. Fernandez, who has been on Guam for over a week, plans to hit the ground running as DOE's new superintendent.

DOE has been without a permanent superintendent since Nerissa Bretania Shafer retired a year ago. Fernandez will start his week by touring Guam's public schools to assess their needs and meeting with teachers and faculty.
