Guam - There's a new War in the Pacific exhibit that is sure to catch your attention in Sumay. The new state of the art exhibit consists of a chronology of the Pacific War and emphasizes Guam's involvement. The most interesting piece is the center display, which is a model of the territory that animates the sequence of battle between the U.S. and Japan in 1944.
Exhibit designer Daniel Quan says the attraction was built to cater to people of all ages, saying, "That's part of the thing too is using a lot of the technology that kids are familiar with will make a better connection, better reason for coming back and something they are familiar with in using the touch screens and a lot of audio and visual media is probably the one thing we can really improve on for this place and we've done that."
Residents can also expect short films, audio lessons, and the museum also comes equipped with devices for the hearing and visually impaired. The exhibit will be open to the public on liberation day at the T. Stell Newman Visitor's Center just outside the front gate of Naval Base Guam.
