Guam - Two Navy sailors who allegedly thought robbing someone for cash would be a good joke just got some extra time to provide comic relief at the Hagatna Lockup this after they were re-arrested for a pair of other armed robberies.

Police detectives didn't have to go far to find who they believe were responsible for this week's string of armed robberies. That's because the suspects were already behind bars. Police spokesperson Sergeant Mike Aguon said, "The robbery unit realized that they had an individual arrested for robbery looked at other things pending and looked at the reports which resembled each other."

U.S. Navy sailors Anthony Mayers and Justin Miska, arrested Tuesday for an armed robbery at the Liberation Carnival, were re-arrested, this time for armed robberies that occurred at Best Massage in Tamuning and Hanna Shiatsu Massage in Tumon. Evidently before the carnival robbery, Miska and Mayers hit up the two massage parlors, a night of crime they described in court documents as a joke.

The two now face additional charges of 2nd degree robbery, attempted 2nd degree robbery, 2 counts of possession and use of a deadly weapon in the commission of a felony, 2 counts of conspiracy to commit robbery, 2 counts of terrorizing, and reckless conduct. Mayers faces an additional 2 counts of criminal facilitation.

As we reported GPD has been working in close consultation with the Naval Criminal Investigative Services. The cooperation and partnership between the entities have even linked Miska and Mayers to a burglary on Naval Base Guam. GPD in the meantime is trying to determine whether the two sailors could be connected to other robberies that have occurred in recent weeks.

"With those profiles we are going out and doing interviews and re-interviewing victims of the stores so we are hoping that we get closer to solving the other robberies," said Aguon.

Miska and Mayers are currently being held on $25,000 cash bail each.  Meanwhile anyone with information about any of the other robberies on Guam can contact the robbery task force hotline at 475-8532 or 475-8551.
