Guam - If you notice orange scooters with blue lights flashing behind you, you may just want to pull over. The Guam Police Department got four new scooters today donated by Ken Corporation. Frankie E. Smith Precinct commander Lieutenant Ron Taitano says each scooter is valued at just over $2,000 each.
"We now have extra vehicles to put our officers, police reserves and we are hoping to build our program up with volunteer services as well to put them out there to be the deterrence, extra eyes and ears out there and to enable us to get into areas because of their size and mobility that patrol cars and bigger motorcycles can't go," he said.
The scooters will be used to help increase police presence throughout the tourism district.
