Guam - The Guam Housing and Urban Renewal Authority recently announced that it has received its first clean audit in 50 years. According to executive director Ray Topasna, this is just another highlight as GHURA prepares to celebrate its golden anniversary this December and unveil its new strategic plan.

"It's going to identify a number of programs, projects that we will commit to over the next five years to address affordable housing challenges for Guam," he told KUAM News.

Independent auditors J. Scott Magliari and Company rendered an unqualified or "clean" opinion on the agency's financial statements and compliance reports for Fiscal Year 2011. The audit was performed on GHURA's five major programs including Section 8, the Public Housing Capital Fund, the Community Development Block Grant, Low-Income Housing Tax Credits, and Compact impact.
