Man, 26, arrested for Hagatna crash

Police arrested 26-year-old Albert Thomas Manibusan Jr. for his part in the traffic crash in Hagatna that involved a police vehicle early this morning.

Guam - Police arrested 26-year-old Albert Thomas Manibusan Jr. for his part in the traffic crash in Hagatna that involved a police vehicle early this morning. According to GPD spokesperson Sgt. Mike Aguon, the on duty police officer was traveling south along route 1 near the Bank of Hawaii around 1:30 am when a 2003 PT Cruiser driven by Manibusan struck the police vehicle from behind forcing the officer to crash into a tree on the median lane. Manibusan's vehicle overturned as a result of the crash. Both drivers were treated and released from GMH for minor injuries. The Tamuning man was booked and confined on charges of driving under the influence with injuries and reckless driving with injuries. Southbound lanes near the Chamorro village were closed for several hours as highway patrol investigates the crash.
