Guam - Although the Guam Police Department is keeping a tight lid on what they know about Saturday's shooting, KUAM News has confirmed the victim is an individual named Michael Castro. The 36-year-old is the one person that may be able to tell GPD what happened Saturday evening.

Castro had to undergo surgery at the Guam Memorial Hospital after he was shot in the face. He is in the Intensive Care Unit currently on life support. Police learned a private vehicle dropped Castro off to the ER Saturday night. CID agents were on the look out for the vehicle and its occupants.

GPD spokesperson Sergeant Mike Aguon says the department is not ready to provide more information on the investigation, however KUAM has learned GPD was able to locate the vehicle in question and that it's currently being processed at the crime lab in Mangilao. KUAM also learned agents questioned several occupants that were inside the vehicle that night, but no one was arrested.   Police meanwhile are still trying to figure out where, how and why Castro was shot.

Sunday morning authorities cordoned off the parking lot of the Mobil-McDonald's parking lot in Maite, calling it an area of concern.

Now Castro's name should sound familiar - back in March, Castro was arrested along with Jesse Belen accused of robbing a game room in Agat. The pair allegedly walked into J's Gameroom, one with a red handkerchief over his face, then holding one victim at gunpoint and getting away with more than $500. The two were shortly picked up by police nearby.

GPD is still waiting to speak with Castro about the shooting. Anyone with information is asked to call them or Crimestoppers at 477-HELP (4357).
