Guam - The Department of Agriculture's Division of Aquatic and Wildlife Resources broke ground today for a new fisheries building. According to division chief Celestino Aguon, DOA has been operating in a substandard building for years. "We can see ourselves growing in our fishing area fairly well," he said. "And it will come in a good moment in terms of future prospects and future opportunities."
The $900,000 project was funded by a sport fish restoration grant. The 5,800-square foot building will include fishery staff offices, a boathouse, warehouse space, and a parking lot. The project is set for completion December 2012.
