Guam - The Route 25 - Alageta Road project should have been completed in April of last year. Paving of the road was scheduled to begin today and continue through the week, but due to technical difficulties the work has been put on hold yet again.

The significant delays in the project are a major concern for the Department of Public Works that will be seeking liquidated damages from the contractor. DPW deputy director Carl Dominguez says he is scheduled to meet with Guam Construction Company on Thursday to get more information on the latest delay. He knows that the company has had problems with the friction course.

During Thursday's meeting Dominguez says he will discuss the liquidated damages clause of the contract to see how much money GCC owes the government for the delays.
