Guam - The Spending Cuts Task Force is set to meet tomorrow where updates will be provided on several proposals relative to reducing the $43 million burden to the General Fund through spending cuts. According to director of communications Troy Torres, although fiscal policy is in a better position than it was a year ago, work is still needed in order to move forward with fiscal reform.

He said, "So tomorrow what we'll see is some of the reports trickling in, in how we can cut spending, there are some draft and not finalized recommendations that will come out about cuts to benefits, I believe there may be a draft report on early retirement that may be an option."

Torres encourages the community to participate as public discussion is absolutely critical in determining the cuts. The team hopes to put together a final report in order to meet the governor's July 1 deadline of recommendations. The task force is set to meet Friday at the cabinet conference room at 9am.
