Hundreds turn out for DOE job fair

Guam - Hundreds turned out to the Department of Education's job fair at Okkodo High School today. According to personnel specialist Leilani Figueroa, there are 233 vacancies ranging from teaching positions to support staffers that need to be filled for next school year.
She told KUAM News, "These are specific vacancies these are existing vacancies so it's not requiring any additional funding. A lot of these are people who have resigned or retired or temporarily certified 0804 those free up a lot of positions."
Figueroa says DOE is in dire need of math and science teachers, as there are over 30 vacancies in each of the subjects. To view a complete job listing and download an application, visit www.gdoe.net.
