Guam - Remember that case we told you about a couple weeks ago about $25,000 worth of fraudulent check sent out by the Department of Education? Well, add another $25,000 to that amount.

"Between the bank and our controller we're closely monitoring our operational account and I think we're up to $56,000 in forged checks, so we're working with the bank to put controls in place so that none of those checks get charged to the department," said interim DOE superintendent Taling Taitano. She doesn't believe the check fraud is related to its new financial management system from Tyler Technologies.

Some of the fraudulent checks failed to clear in addresses in Virginia, New York, North Carolina, and Texas. The investigation continues.
