Guam - Several of the Educational Learning Task Force's education reform suggestions are contained in Bill 437. The legislation passed with ten votes during the last legislative session.  The measure provides mechanisms to fund critically needed repairs and renovations to the island's public schools.

Acting Governor Ray Tenorio says Bill 437 along with the over dozen other measures that were passed are still under review at Adelup. "Because we've had some mistakes from the Legislature, before that we've been fixing recently that we don't want to have to redo again so I'll be looking at those bills very closely," he said.

Bill 437 was passed by a vote of 10- 4-1 with Speaker Judi Won Pat, Vice Speaker B.J. Cruz, Senator Tina Muna Barnes and Minority Leader Frank Blas Jr. passing three times resulting in a 'no' vote while Senator Ben Pangelinan was excused as he is off-island.
