Guam - The Guam Memorial Hospital is hoping a Superior Court judge will uphold its decision to terminate an emergency room technician. In October 2010, the hospital terminated Melanie Aguon for performing an unauthorized procedure on an elderly woman who was admitted to the emergency room.
Aguon appealed the termination with the Civil Service Commission, which agreed to modify the adverse action from termination to a 30-day suspension. The hospital has asked the court to overturn the commission's decision and uphold the termination.
A motion for summary judgment was heard this afternoon and was taken under advisement.
