Guam - DOE interim superintendent Taling Taitano says the department is well underway with obligating the $60 million in stimulus money before its September deadline. By the end of the week, 40% of the funding will be obligated while remaining contracts await approval from the Attorney General's Office and hearings at the OPA's.

More IFBs are set to be issued this week. Taitano says DOE will be addressing repair work by systems. First on the list are roofing, electrical upgrades, and fire alarms for schools islandwide.
