NMI woman charged with sex trafficking arrested locally

Guam - Chang Ru Meng Backman was arrested on Guam today.  She is wanted in the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands on charges of sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion and three counts of alien smuggling.   According to the indictment, Backman runs Holiday Night Club in Saipan and allegedly accepted money for her workers to perform sexual services in barracks or at various locations around the island.

Three of Backman's employee's had expired visas. The feds are working to send Backman back to Saipan to answer to the federal charges.
