GFT polls closed
According to Guam Federation of Teachers member Carol Somerfleck, the polls for the union's presidential re-election closed today and are set to be counted by a U.S. Department of Labor representative from Hawaii tomorrow.

Guam - The polls are closed. According to Guam Federation of Teachers member Carol Somerfleck, the polls for the union's presidential re-election closed today and are set to be counted by a U.S. Department of Labor representative from Hawaii tomorrow. Somerfleck anticipates the reveal Saturday.
The candidates on the ballot are Somerfleck (a teacher at Agana Heights Elementary School), current vice president of the GFT's executive council Tim Fedenko, and Alutig Busing's Ed Quintanilla. Current GFT president Matt Rector has not officially resigned from his post, but told members at a convention meeting that he intends to leave off island after school is out to tend to his parents.
