Judge to issue decision on motion to suppress
by Mindy Aguon
Guam - District Court Chief Judge Frances Tydingco Gatewood has taken a motion to suppress in the illegal gambling case under advisement. William Perez has asked the court to suppress statements he made to the FBI back in December 2010 when agents raided the MGM Spa for illegal gambling.
Perez provided statements about renting the Tamuning building and paying rent to run a gambling operation there. Perez claims he was never given his Miranda Rights and was denied an attorney during interrogations.
Perez is charged with illegal gambling and money laundering with Waik Kam Ho, Jennie Pau, and Jimmy Hsieh.
