Guam - A woman who the internal revenue service claims cost them $2 million pleaded guilty to filing and making fraudulent tax returns. Immaculata Sewell signed a plea agreement that was accepted by Magistrate Judge Joaquin Manibusan today, admitting to the offenses.

Sewell agreed to pay back the IRS the $13,000 she received in tax refunds and another $125,000 she claims she charged others to prepare the refunds. Sewell admitted to preparing the returns using a Washington State address and giving tax credits that were not applicable. She has been released and is set to be sentenced on September 20 and faces a maximum of 33 years behind bars.

The judge noted that because she is a citizen of the Freely Associated States, her status with immigration could be affected.
