Guam - A firefighter assigned to the Umatac Fire Station is behind bars tonight, accused of sexually assaulting an 11-year-old girl during a card game at his Talofofo home. 38-year-old Dean Ray Quinata was arrested this morning.

The Firefighter II is being held in jail until he can post $10,000 cash bail and a $15,000 personal recognizance bond. The prosecution had sought $40,000 thousand dollars bail but the defense asked that it be changed since he has no criminal history.

According to court documents, Quinata allegedly touched the minor and then had intercourse with her. During a magistrate's hearing this afternoon, a judge directed Quinata to have no contact with the victim in the case.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 8.

The Guam Fire Department meanwhile was unaware of Quinata's arrest.
