Guam - After careful review and consideration, Department of Education superintendent-select Jon Fernandez has put pen to paper and signed his contract.  With the governor's review and approval, Fernandez is set to run the largest Government of Guam agency for the next four years with an annual salary of $150,000.

Fernandez in a brief statement to the media said he thanks the members of the Guam Education Board and chairman Francis Santos for their hard work and constant dialogue throughout this process.  Fernandez says he looks forward to returning home as soon as possible to get to work on behalf of the children and youth of the island.

He hopes to be on island in the middle of June.
