Guam - As the Chamorro Land Trust Commission continues to wait from the Attorney General's Office regarding the status of Paradise Estates, it faces another stumbling block as they are currently without a legal counsel. Director Monte Mafnas says the CLTC has been working without a legal counsel for over a year and because land is the most complex issue it necessitates legal advice.

"We have issued last week for a request for proposal for legal counsel and we want to review and assert the best possible bank for the dollar," he said.

He is hoping to get someone on board to work daily as opposed to the previous legal representative which was only as needed and cost a considerable amount. As for Paradise Estates, he says he doesn't understand the holdup as Tonko Reyes, Inc. had already agreed to survey a million square meters of land in Dededo that would allow for hundreds of lots to be subdivided and distributed to those who are waiting for a CLTC lot.
