Guam - The appeal of a Guam Police Department officer who was fired for failing to turn in a police report and insubordination is making its way through the process with the Civil Service Commission. Daniel B. (aka, "Troy") Anciano was terminated after he arrested Police Captain Mark Charfauros for solicitation to commit assault.

The final adverse action accused Anciano of failing to follow an order not to arrest Charfauros, and instead investigate and forward the case to the Criminal Investigation Division.

Police management have been meeting with Anciano and his attorney during status call hearings that provide an opportunity for possible settlement discussions.

Another status call hearing is scheduled to be held in early June.
