GFT plans next membership meeting
The election for the new Guam Federation of Teachers president is ongoing and ballots must be submitted by this Friday.

Guam - The election for the new Guam Federation of Teachers president is ongoing and ballots must be submitted by this Friday. The president hopefuls are Agana Heights teacher Carol Somerfleck, GFT executive council Tim Fedenko, and Alutig Busing's Ed Quintanilla.
A USDOL representative from Hawaii will be on island on June 2 to collect and tally votes from 2,000 GFT members.
In the meantime, the union is scheduled to have a general membership meeting this Wednesday. The union hasn't had a quorum for a general membership meeting since September 2010. The GFT membership meeting is set for May 30 at 5:30pm at the GFT compound in Mangilao.
