Visitor arrivals up 28%

The island's tourism industry is picking up as visitor arrivals are up by 28% as compared to last April.

Guam - The island's tourism industry is picking up as visitor arrivals are up by 28% as compared to last April. Governor Eddie Calvo says the increase is another sign of an economy poised for growth.

The Guam Visitors Bureau reports that Japan arrivals are up by 25%, Korea jumped 66%,  while Taiwan is up 124% and Russian visitors are utilizing the visa waiver program as arrivals have increased by 769%.
