Guam - Hoping to re-evaluate and improve the current procurement process in the Government of Guam, the Guam Procurement Advisory Council is set to meet for a second time since it was established through public law last October.

Chairman John Unpingco says the current procedures are outdated and restrain the progress of government, noting, "This Friday, we're going to explore what is out there, what resources we can tap into and we're also going to discuss some procurement bills that have introduced by the Guam Legislature."

He hopes to provide recommendations on areas such as cooperative purchasing and purchasing vehicles for the entire public sector. The Council consists of nearly a dozen members including the Office of Public Accountability, the Department of Administration and the Department of Public Works. The meeting is set for this Friday at 11am at Adelup.
